1. Who we are
Khidma ("Khidma", "we", "us") is a private record-keeping app that helps families and employers in Kuwait and the wider GCC keep an organised, tamper-evident record of their domestic worker's wages and employment details.
Khidma is operated by Ibrahim AlMubarak, an individual developer, who is the data controller responsible for your information.
If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@usekhidma.com.
2. Our approach to your data
Khidma is built around data minimisation — we collect only what the app genuinely needs to work, and nothing more. In particular:
- We do not collect passport numbers or civil ID numbers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not collect your precise location or advertising identifiers.
3. What we collect
Your account information
Your email address and password, or your phone number, used to create and sign in to your account. We also store the name and household name you provide during setup.
The employment records you enter
When you use Khidma, you enter records about your domestic worker. This can include: the worker's name, nationality, gender (used only to display the correct wording in Arabic), agreed wage, and the payments, advances, leave, attendance, incident notes and photo or document attachments (such as receipts) that you choose to record. These records are stored so the app can display them, keep them tamper-evident, and produce a verified PDF for you.
Subscription information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We and our subscription-management provider receive your purchase status and an app-assigned identifier so we can unlock paid features. We never receive or store your card details — Apple handles payment.
4. Information collected automatically
Khidma keeps automatic data collection to a minimum. We do not collect your device location, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity.
5. Records about your worker
Khidma is used by you, the employer. The records you enter are about your domestic worker, who is not a user of the app. As the person entering these records, you are responsible for their accuracy and for informing your worker about them where the law requires it. Khidma stores and secures these records on your behalf.
Khidma includes an optional acknowledgment feature that lets your worker confirm receipt of a payment through a link, in their own language. This does not create an account for the worker and does not require them to sign in.
6. Where your data is stored and who helps us protect it
Your records are stored in a secure data center in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany) — a location we chose deliberately, because EU data is governed by some of the strictest privacy laws in the world. Your records are never stored on someone's laptop or an office computer; they live in professionally secured infrastructure, encrypted and access-controlled.
To run Khidma, we rely on a small number of specialist service providers: a database and authentication provider, a subscription-management service, and an SMS-delivery service for sign-in codes — plus Apple, which handles App Store distribution and payments. Each provider is contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us.
No one else has access to your data. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or give it to anyone outside this short list.
7. How long we keep your data, and how to delete it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active.
You are in control of your data at all times:
- You can delete individual records from within the app.
- You can permanently delete your entire account and all associated data from within the app, in Settings → Delete Account. This is irreversible.
If you have an active paid subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel it — Apple continues billing until you cancel the subscription yourself. You can manage or cancel it at any time at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
You may also ask us to delete your data by emailing privacy@usekhidma.com.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (see Section 7).
- Export your data — the app lets you generate a verified PDF of your records at any time.
- Withdraw consent and stop using the app at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app options or email privacy@usekhidma.com. If you are in a region with data-protection laws, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
9. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, and a cryptographic tamper-evidence system: your records are chained together so that any change to a past record is detectable. This is a core feature of Khidma — it is designed to make your records defensible and hard to quietly alter.
10. Children
Khidma is intended for adults who employ domestic workers. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Please review it from time to time.
